Today #MADAGASCAR Is Trending On Twitter For Finding The Cure For Covid-19

As Nigeria prepares to take its delivery from madagascar, if this is really true then COVID-19 would be controlled in Nigeria by Madagascar Cure.

Madagascar has developed a herbal tonic which has been touted as a cure for COVID-19. COVID-Organics therapy was developed by the Malagasy Institute of Applied Research (IMRA).
COVID-Organics therapy is derivative of sweet wormwood (Artemisia annua), source of antimalarial drug artemisinin.

The island nation has 151 confirmed coronavirus cases and no deaths.
Malagasy President Andry Rajoelina said: ” the tonic has passed through several Scientific tests” at its launch, last month.

These are some twitter reactions:
I just heard that W.H.O warned against using Madagascar’s herbal remedy for Covid19 and two questions came to my mind begging for answers.

Did WHO ever carried out proper lab test or experimented on the Madagascar herbs

“Taking advantage of is very key to living a rent-free life”.

MadagascarCure it’s been sent to Nigeria…..just pray it works since the COVID-Organics means of preparation has not been stated and IMRA has not reported any data on its efficacy or side effects.

Scientists warned that drug-resistant malaria could be imminent in Africa, as sole administration of Attemissinin has been found to fuel Malaria resistance.

Despite such warnings, several African countries have said they are placing orders for the brew.
Other African leaders are keen to obtain the product.
Tanzanian President John Magufuli said earlier this week “We will send a plane to bring the drugs so that Tanzanians can also benefit”.
Denis Sassou Nguesso, president of the Republic of the Congo disclosed plans to adopt the tonic also.

The embrace of an “African” therapy for COVID-19 comes amid rejection of Western medical science in parts of African societies.
After French scientists suggested a coronavirus vaccine could be
tried on the continent which erupted media storm in March.

This has raised an eyebrow and some African scientists ask why sudden and unquestioned adoption of the locally produced treatment by leaders for which no evidence of efficacy appears to exist.
