Walk For Police Brutality Ends With Protesters Shot With Plastic Bullets
Prior in the day, relatives of Andres Guardado accumulated in Gardena to recognize his life and call for equity in his killing.
Subsequent to making the 3.8-mile trek to the sheriff’s station in Compton, pressures among dissenters and delegates bubbled over.
As appointees required an enormous gathering to back up, many fled distinctly to be tear-gassed and hit with elastic projectiles on the means of the sheriff’s office.
One demonstrator, who gave the name Five Kisses, said she walked today to show solidarity among earthy colored and Black individuals, and request answers in Guardado’s passing.
She said that as she attempted to pull different participants once more from the police, she and others were struck by elastic slugs.
“I attempted to get them to return. They just wouldn’t quit shooting,” she stated, “And now here we are: getting shot, getting tear-gassed. What’s more, we should be here in memory of Andres.”
The episode comes as fights against police ruthlessness and calls for change and defunding ring out across the nation in the wake of George Floyd’s passing in Minneapolis a month ago.
Therefore, an expanded examination has been set on the police and their treatment of deadly shootings. Guardado’s passing is the same.
Questions encompassing the shooting remain
The 18-year-old Guardado was moved toward Thursday by agents who saw him before business on West Redondo Beach Boulevard, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Capt. Kent Wegener said during a public interview Saturday.
Guardado “apparently looked toward the representatives” and “delivered a handgun” before running down the garage of the business, Wegener said.
He was sought after by the delegates, one of whom terminated six rounds.
Guardado was articulated dead at the scene in the wake of being shot in the upper middle, as indicated by Wegener.
The Los Angeles County Coroner revealed to CNN that a post-mortem is pending.
A .40 bore self-loader gun with no sequential number and an illicit expanded magazine stacked with 13 rounds was recouped at the scene, Wegener said.
